Site Preparation

Solid foundations start with proper grading, compaction, and drainage.

Steps We Follow

  1. Layout & Marking: Confirm boundaries and utility locates; stake elevations and edges.
  2. Cut/Fill & Rough Grade: Shape the site, manage spoils, and establish general slopes.
  3. Subgrade Prep: Proof-roll and compact; stabilize weak areas with geotextile or aggregate.
  4. Drainage Planning: Integrate swales, culverts, and subdrain where necessary.
  5. Fine Grade: Bring surface to final elevations with required crown or slope.
  6. Base Installation: Install graded aggregate base in lifts; compact to spec.

Why Proper Preparation Matters

Quality site prep prevents settlement, controls water, and supports long-term performance. Poor prep leads to cracking, rutting, and costly repairs.

Establish proposed elevations with balanced cut/fill to achieve proper drainage and pad level.

Compaction Lifts

Compacted Lifts

Place material in even lifts and compact in overlapping passes to reach specified density.
